I have been wearing the Ultimate 81 LE shoe for nearly 10 years. These have to be the most well made, durable shoes on the planet. I wear a size 15 shoe and am hard on shoes, normally, but I have worn different pairs of these shoes through snow, rain, building lawns and stone walls at the cottage, and just about anywhere a person would walk. They simply do not break down or fall apart. I typically wear a pair 3-5 years, the first couple of years at work, often on my feet, 12 months a year, in rain, snow, and the hottest days of summer. Then I start wearing them at the cottage, constructing lawns and clearing brush....they can take all kinds of abuse and still stand up. They have wonderful support, too...I cannot say enough good things about these shoes. They are simply the best!

Changed Jobs in 1997 where the dress code was relaxed, but did not want to wear tennis shoes, but needed a shoe for long hours of comfort. The Asics has a wide size that really looks like a dress shoe, but I can wear all day. Comfort is what the Onitsuka Tiger does best. Also I find the oldest pair will go from mud to polish shine with easy. The neatest thing is I never have to shop, just jump on line and just like magic the Rockport's appear.

I bought these shoes for a trip to Egypt. I needed good walking shoes able to take many hours per day climbing all over the pyramids, ruins, temples, museums, and bazaars. I found them extremely comfortable and wore them each day, all day, for three solid weeks. They are dressy enough that I could put on some khaki slacks in the evenings and look good enough for a nice dinner in a nice Egyptian restaurant.

For the past 27 years I have been a lecturer in a technical education college resulting in my having to stand on my feet for many hours each day. As a result I began to suffer from lower back pain and especially pain in my hip region. I tried a variety of different shoe brands in an attempt to relieve this pain but without any satisfaction until I discovered these. The first type I wore were made of baseball glove leather and they were terrific. Unfortunately they were withdrawn from production. The replacement shoes from Rockport were of similar style but without the baseball glove finish and they were perfect. They have now worn out and once again unavailable in Australia. As there is no way I would now wear anything other than these I went to the internet. Zappos was the first company I clicked on and I can say with all honesty I am glad that I did. I confess that I had some concern buying over the internet, especially shoes as the fit is so important. But I had no need for concern as the shoes are absolutely perfect. The fit is excellent, and the style is fantastic.
